This survey, disseminated by the Explosive Weapons Monitor in May 2025, collects information about endorsing states’ national efforts to implement the 2022 Political Declaration on Strengthening the Protection of Civilians from the Humanitarian Consequences Arising from the Use of Explosive Weapons in Populated Areas.
It is available in English, French and Spanish.
Sharing regular updates on national implementation of the Political Declaration and responding to implementation surveys was a key recommendation in the outcome document from the first international follow-up conference, produced by Ireland, Norway and Costa Rica. Survey responses will contribute to state efforts to uphold the commitments set out in the Political Declaration, in particular on information sharing.
Information from survey responses will be used in Explosive Weapons Monitor state profiles and in a report that will be produced in advance of the second international follow-up conference in Costa Rica in November 2025. It will also facilitate the compilation and exchange of good practices and lessons learned on implementation.
To respond to the survey by the 30 June 2025 deadline or to share questions or concerns, please contact Camilla Molyneux at camilla@article36.org.
